About Me

THE ARTIST

I have completed quite a few amazing projects; one I am most proud of is hand painted mural backdrop for Hawaii Farmers Union United Conventions key note, Congresswoman, Tulsi Gabbard, that was painted in 3 days on a friends studio floor in Kula. Sometimes I try new mediums, like when I built a life size driftwood surfer getting barreled in driftwood wave, a backyard conversation piece for years! I also enjoy making props for set designs, wrapping wall signs on buildings, welding/fabricating steel, papier-mâché sculptures, sewing themed costumes, creating art for local merchants on Haight Street, and building furniture from recycled materials found in landfills...wow, guess I can literally create anything! I am also licensed in Hawaii to draw on skin, I do occasional tattoo or permanent makeup designs, but only in shops that will allow me. Decided at my age, it’s too lame the whole mental bs that apprentices normally go through, so I am practicing with a trusted an respected mentor I visit every year on Maui. We believe what Picasso believed, “the meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose of life is to give it away” I am proud to call myself an Artist. For me, any medium or creative tool will do, or I can share my own. Challenge me, I’m into it.

WIPS N GIGS

One thing I know I’ll always be doing...painting. I absolutely LOVE to paint! My favorite challenge is making my art look surreal or as if a special camera caught the moment....it’s a glimpse into my mind as I can only imagine. In my world, God can do kick flips on his skateboard, renaissance is in everyday life, and my art is the supernova that grips it. When I can perform my art live at a show, the adrenaline adds to piece and my brush strokes become an atmospheric dance on canvas...it’s always a memorable experience.

MURALS & WALLS

At 17, my art was brought before a panel, created by the city, to carefully select a Muralist Assistant for a well known artist from L.A. After winning, I was asked to create a “mini-mural” that would be added to main piece. It was my 1st mural, an introduction to the “LTL” way of painting. Hopefully one day I’ll get the biggest job of my life painting an entire building, but until then I’ll continue painting murals & backdrops for residential homes and businesses.

CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES

Although owning an industrial sewing machine does not make me a pro, I’m still going to consider my skills above amateur level. I’ve made intricate costumes, bags, bedding, designed my own clothing, hand painted pennants & patches, and combined my crotchet skills to create full dress pieces from a simple sketch. Sometimes I create hand painted jackets and donate to goodwill on Haight Street in hopes of one day seeing one of my jackets on someone...this year I’m planning on donating my handpainted shoes/belts/purses...I call it “free advertising.”

THE ART BAR - POP-UP GALLERIES / SAN FRANCISCO / HAWAII

This year I launched the first pop-up gallery in San Francisco. Whats a pop-up gallery? It’s when my crew an I (c/o The Art Bar SF) help owners renovate new spaces in trade for 1-2 months of featuring our nonprofits artworks and offering free art classes to community. Goal is to fundraise until there’s enough to open permanent location. I'm very lucky to be doing what I love as my profession. My art allows me to travel from San Francisco to Hawaii meeting interesting people from all over the world. Beginning 2019, we are booking pop-up galleries for special events, weddings, or for private gatherings...but that’s not all, we can also include a live jazz band, live art, and catering that’s top notch! To donate to a permanent location for ‘The Art Bar San Francisco,’ please visit; gofundme.com/theartbarsf
